The Dragon Concert Series, consisting of Drexel Athletics, the DAC Pack, Student Affairs and Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee (SAFAC) are proud to present "Midnight Madness Event 2013!" to be held on Friday, November 1, 2013. This annual event gives students and fans of Drexel the chance to celebrate the start of the new basketball season.
In addition to meeting the team, the evening's main attraction will be a full concert featuring Childish Gambino. Donald Glover (aka. Childish Gambino) is an American rapper, actor, writer, comedian, and producer. Glover first came to attention for his work with Derrick Comedy and for subsequently being a writer for 30Rock. Today, he is best known for his role as college student Troy Barnes on the NBC comedy series Community and for his rising career as a stand-up comedian and rapper. In 2011, Glover signed to Glassnote Records under the stage name Childish Gambino after releasing several albums and mixtapes himself; his first album for the label, Camp, was released on November 15, 2011. He just revealed that his upcoming sophomore album, which is still untitled, is finished.
The doors open at 8:00 p.m. with the event beginning at 9:00 p.m with opening acts. Tickets for Drexel students will be $10 and $20 for guests of Drexel students. Tickets are available on Ticket Leap starting at 8:00 p/m. on October 8th. Each students may bring up to two (2) guests.
The student-run Drexel SAFAC is supporting the implementation of three campus wide concerts. The committee will continue the existing concert traditions of Homecoming and Spring Jam, as well as, the DAC Pack's Midnight Madness event.
